Rounding Essentials Retreat – Devon
Immerse in the art of Rounding for deep rest and purification
2nd–5th October
Rounding Essentials Retreat at Dartington Estate
We encourage you to make time for a few days of deep rest and purification. This is one of the best ways to fast-track your development — one weekend retreat can deliver the benefits of three to six months of regular meditation.
The Meditation Programme
The weekend focuses on a technique called ‘Rounding’. Rounding is a simple series of yoga poses, followed by a breathing technique called Pranayama. This is easy to learn and can be practised by anyone. Practising Rounding on a retreat is an ‘industrial-strength’ programme that enhances the restfulness of meditation and increases the release of deep stress.
The Lectures
One of the highlights of this weekend retreat is the opportunity to explore in more depth the Vedic knowledge that accompanies our meditation practice. These lively talks delve into practical topics like relationships, navigating change, and finding balance in life.
The Venue
We’ll be staying at the Dartington Trust estate in South Devon near Totnes. This 1,200 acre campus for progressive learning in arts, ecology and social justice is set amongst rolling green fields, magnificent formal gardens and Grade II listed buildings. We’re in the heart of the grounds, able to access all that nature has to offer on our doorstep.
The Meals
Delicious vegetarian meals will be served, to support and enhance the deep meditation programme. Time shared socialising around the table is some of the most enjoyable of the weekend.
The Rooms
We’re pleased to offer a wide selection of rooms that have a collegiate feel, reflecting the backdrop of learning and culture that is part of the Dartington experience. From the Manor Rooms in the main building through to the more basic student-style accommodation on the campus, we have a range of options to suit different budgets.

Praise for past retreats...
It’s been the most amazing weekend. The fatigue I have released is incredible, and I feel physically and mentally lighter. In turn this is opening me up to new ways of thinking, being and doing.
I feel deeply, powerfully rested; several years younger; skin, eyes, mind, and heart, all clearer and sharper; and like I’ve given myself a wonderful gift. Thank you – a perfect rounding retreat.
I had a fantastic weekend which was completely unique to anything I had done before. It was great spending time with so many interesting and different people and I found the rounding a profound and special experience.
I have never felt so rested in a few days away. The perfect weekend – I am relaxed, energised, and educated for a lifetime of change.
