Meditation Courses for Children

Meditation is a powerful resource for children. From a young age, it dissolves stress at the deepest level, supports healthy brain development, regulates emotions, and builds equanimity. Learning this technique early pays lifelong dividends as they grow and develop.

what's involved
  • Children can learn with us from the age of 6, provided a parent, close relative, or carer already practises Vedic Meditation.
  • Ages 6–9 learn a word of wisdom — a sound they can silently repeat during daily activities to help calm and settle themselves.
  • Ages 10–14 learn to meditate for a set number of minutes that matches their age (e.g. 10 minutes for a 10-year-old). This practice helps reduce stress and anxiety and supports emotional balance.

Course Structure
  • Young Children’s Course (ages 6–9): one 90-minute in-person session.
  • Older Children’s Course (ages 10–14): two in-person sessions on consecutive days.
  • Each child brings a piece of fruit and a flower on the first day.
  • The child learns their special sound (word of wisdom) and is guided in how to use it.
  • A parent or guardian who meditates attends the first session with their child.
Prerequisites
  • Your child must show a genuine interest in learning. Please don’t push them — forcing creates resistance over time.
  • At least one parent, close relative, or carer must already be practising Vedic Meditation.
  • That adult must accompany the child for the first session.
  • Your child must be able to keep a secret. (For younger children, this is especially important.) The accompanying adult will also learn the child’s mantra but must not share it with siblings or friends.
